Additional information about Lighting
I am fascinated with combining light and paper texture. The photos here are whimsical lighted sculptures that use a technique of spray pulping.
I begin with forming a wire sculpture. The wire sculpture is then sprayed with wet colored paper pulp blown out of a spray gun under high pressure. More color is added after the pieces are dry and the sculpture is coated with a clear acrylic for protection then placed over a regular lampshade which uses a low watt bulb.
The end result is a beautiful luminescent sculpture that can be displayed on side tables. Several photos of my sculptures are featured in a book entitled “Paper Illuminated” published in October 2001.
I now have a body of work using this technique that is wall mounted. Check my commissions page, Harvard Vanguard installation for photos. Pricing begins at $150.
